He graduated from Istanbul University Law Faculty and admitted to Istanbul Bar in 2015. He started as an associate in the ITC/TMT department of one of the top tier law firms in Istanbul representing global digital service companies and continued working at another top tier multinational law firm based in Istanbul working with similar clients in the same expertise areas prior to founding Doygun Attorneys-at-Law in 2021 which evolved into TDBB Attorneys-at-Law (Schwelle).

He advises local and foreign clients on various legal topics focusing on technology, data privacy, internet law, online crimes, telecommunications, and media law. His experience includes legal assistance on day-to-day operations of various digital service companies including multinational organizations and corporations along with special advisory roles regarding various projects and undertakings of such institutions. Previous clients include companies from technology, social media, e-commerce, energy, automotive, banking and finance industries.

BERK BENGİ

PARTNER

Berk graduated from Istanbul German High School in 2012 and from the Faculty of Law at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2016. He worked at the Observatory Department of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) within the scope of the Pan-European Seal Programme, focusing on the relationship between intellectual property rights and technology. He provided legal support to clients on international projects in the fields of IT law, intellectual property law, real estate law, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions at ELIG and Esin Attorney Partnership in Türkiye.

​

With more than eight years of international experience gained at leading law firms and EU institutions, Berk provides legal assistance to clients in the areas of technology and IT law, mergers and acquisitions, contract law, intellectual property, compliance, real estate, construction, and hospitality and tourism.

​

Throughout his career, Berk has conducted extensive work on the intersection of technology and law. His peer-reviewed article entitled “Intellectual Property Law and Practice in the Blockchain Realm,” which examines the relationship between blockchain technology and intellectual property law, was published in the Computer Law & Security Review journal in 2018. The article has been cited by more than 100 academic publications in international scholarly platforms and has also been the subject matter of a patent registered by Koch Industries with WIPO under patent number WO2021048702.

 

He founded BengiLaw in 2022 which evolved into TDBB Attorneys-at-Law (Schwelle). Berk also serves as the Chair of the International Relations Committee of GYODER and as the Secretary General of the Alumni Association of Istanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law.

SUDE SERDAROĞLU

ASSOCIATE 

​

She graduated from the Faculty of Law at Istanbul Bilgi University. During her university studies, she had the opportunity to study at the University of Cologne (Universität zu Köln) within the scope of the Erasmus Programme. Throughout his academic period, she took active roles in various departments of Istanbul Bilgi University. Additionally, she worked in the consultancy department of a law firm specializing in various aspects of commercial law.

 

She is actively involved in studies on data protection and data privacy within the scope of the Istanbul Bilgi University Privacy Innovation Lab.

She worked as an attorney at Doygun Attorneys-at-Law and now provides legal services in various fields, particularly disputes, personal data protection, media law, and real estate law as an attorney at TDBB Attorneys-at-Law (Schwelle).

ŞEVVAL YAŞAR

LEGAL TRAINEE

She graduated from the Faculty of Law at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2025. During her university studies, she completed specialization programmes in the fields of economics and corporate law, IT law, and human rights law.

 

Throughout her academic period, she worked as a student assistant in various departments of Istanbul Bilgi University at different times. In addition, she worked as a student trainee in the consultancy department of a law firm specializing in variousaspects of commercial law.

 

She currently works as a legal trainee at TDBB Attorneys-at-Law (Schwelle).

PROF. DR. ECE BAŞ SÜZEL

OF COUNSEL

Prof. Dr. Ece Baş Süzel is a member of the teaching faculty in the Department of Obligations Law at the Faculty of Law, Istanbul Bilgi University. She teaches various courses in contract law, property law, and e-commerce law at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.

 

After completing her PhD in Private Law at Istanbul University with the highest honors in 2015, her doctoral thesis, titled "Non-Genuine Negotiorum Gestio and the Transfer of Benefit," was published as a book shortly thereafter. Her associate professorship thesis focused on distance contracts in e-commerce. Ece has authored books and articles in the fields of real estate law, tenancy law, sales law, platform law, and financial services.

​

In addition to her academic experience, Ece continues to provide legal counsel to clients in the areas of e-commerce, contract law, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate law.

 

Alongside her academic and legal practice, Ece is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Rona Serozan Foundation for Comparative Law Research, under which she organizes conferences.

DR. MELİS AVŞAR

OF COUNSEL

​

Assistant Professor Dr. Melis Avsar initiated her academic journey in 2014 as a research assistant at the Department of Private International Law, Faculty of Law, Istanbul University. She earned her master’s degree, focusing on the topic ‘Powers of the board of directors and legal remedies against board decisions in the registered capital system.’ During her doctoral studies, she had the opportunity to study at the Institut für internationales und ausländisches Privatrecht, Universitat zu Köln. In 2021, she attained the title of Doctor of Law with her dissertation titled ‘The will of parties in determining the international jurisdiction of courts’ and is currently engaged in postdoctoral research on ‘The right of direct action of the injured party in private international law.’

 

In 2022, she was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Istanbul University, where she currently teaches courses and pursues academic research in Private International Law, International Arbitration, Investment Arbitration, International Law of Contracts, Conflict of Laws Issues in Maritime Law, Jurisdiction Agreements, Citizenship Law, and Foreigners Law. She also teaches courses in Turkish-German University as a guest lecturer.
